Printable Tutorial Available!

The how-to on how to make a pencil pouch with all the pictures to guide you every step of the way with an additional vidoe included. This pencil pouch can be made any time and needs a little practice. This may be diffucult at first but with practice you can make them any time any color you want for any holiday or occassion.

The materials that you would need is:

-a zipper

-cloth for outside

-cloth for inside

-sewing maching/thread and needle

-sisscors

You are first going to start with placing the outside cloth on the zipper and facing downwards. while holding that, but the lining of the inside facing the same side of the zipper. So it will be both right sides facing each other and the zipper in the middle.

Next you are going to sew along that. make sure you dont sew the zipper. stay more to the corner but dont go off. then when thats done, you will do the same as the first step. You will first flip it out to the correct way that the bag will end up. then you will put the outside cloth facing down on the zipper. Then the lining will go on the back. Its just like the first step just that you are doing it on the other side. then you will sew it just like the first one.

Then you will need to do a tricky but easy part. its hard to explain but easy to do. so when they are both sewn on, you get the front clothes and the back clothes and hold them together and leave them like that to sew next. so it will look like this.

But first pull the zipper so that you can reverse it when you are done sewing around. Open the zipper half way.

Then combine the same clothes together.

Then once you have reached this step, you will sew all aound it but not completly. you will sew on the dotted line like the picture below.

All where the black dotted line is, that is where you are going to sew. You sew them together AND the zipper. just watch out for the metal peice that stops the zipper which can break your needle if you sew over it. The red dots is where you should but a pin. That will help to remind you that you need to stop there. And you might be asking why do we have to leave a gap on the green one and not the blue one? well here is why. There needs to be an opening in the pouch in the inside so we can flip it inside out so we dont see all the sewing deatils. So wont yuo rather have it hidden in the inside rather the outside? the blue cloth is my outside cloth and the green is my inside cloth. So i dont want my sewing line shown on the outside cloth so i hide it inside.

Once it is sewn you need to flip it around.

Then sew at the top so then when you tuck inside it wont show on the outside and it is nice and hidden. And here is your finished product!
