Easy, Cheap, Fall Decoration Ideas

Need help decorating for fall this year but don't want to spend a lot of money on it at the same time? Here are some crafts that you can make from items from around your house or even the dollar store.

The first project is Fall Garland

For this project, you will need

  • A hot glue gun with glue sticks or sewing machine

  • Felt fall leaves or plastic leaves

You can find the felt leaves that I have shown in the picture above, at the 99 Cents store.

So first you want to get your leaves and set them up in the style or pattern you wish to have them as.

Then you will place the hot glue gun right under the leaves. So when laying out your leaves, make sure that they are overlapping a little bit on the edges so that the glue can go under and not be seen from the front or back.

Then apply the hot glue and do this to as many leaves as you wish. If you want the leaves to droop a little in the middle, let it kind of curve when you are doing the middle piece. And that is all for the Fall Garland!

Our next project is the Fall Mason Jar

The materials for this project is

  • A Mason jar

  • Fake/Scented Pine cones

  • Rope (Optional)

So this project is pretty straight forward. Fill the jar with the pine cones, close the top (or leave it open if you have scented pine cones), and tie the little string around the jar. Easy right? A pretty simple idea, but a cute decoration!

For the next project we are doing the Fall Clothespin Photo Display!

For this project you will need

  • Rope or lights

  • Mini clothespin or regular size (Mini clothespin can be found at Target)

  • Fall pictures

  • Scissors

Before you go online and start searching up all these cute fall pictures and print thousands for your display (my mistake), find a place to have your display. Once you have made your choice measure your string to how long you want it. Also to keep in mind, do you want it to be straight and a tight string, or would you like a droopy string? Measure it out and cut it. Then look at the space you have. Do you want big pictures or small pictures for the display? Once you have decided your average size for each picture, decide how many can fit or how many you want. Then go online and print the pictures you want.

Then with your string attach it to wear you like. You can tape it or attach it in any way you would like to not damage your wall. I used hot glue since it comes off my surface easily and also because I would like the string to be secure and last some time. So then when you have your pictures, cut them and pin them on your string or lights. If you use lights, make sure to use the regular size clothespin to secure the picture so that it won't fall off. And your finished!!
