Mason Jar Aquarium DIY

Spring has just arrived, and summer is just around the corner. This project for the Mason Jar Aquarium DIY is a great project to do during the summer with kids, friends, or for your room decoration.

If you are making this for a pet fish, I highly suggest your items from the store that are for fish tanks and water that is for the type of fish as well.

Materials

- Mason Jar (Any size)

- Mini figures (Sea Life)

- Plastic Aquarium Plants

- Gravel or Rocks

- Glitter (Optional)

- Water

- Blue Food Coloring

1. Alright we are going to start with inserting rocks into the mason jar. Add the plants in this step as well so that the plants are secure inside and don't more around. So you can either put a little layer first, then the plants, and then a layer on top to secure it that it is inside and secure.

2. Now are you are going to insert glitter inside the jar before you add the water. (We add it before because if you put it after, then the glitter will not go down and float around.)

3. Now you can add water inside and add food coloring. When applying the water, be gentle so that the rocks don't get misplaced and the plants come out as well. If you have a small jar, add about 1-2 but nothing more because then it will be too blue. If you have a medium or large mason jar then you can put up to 2-3 drops.

4. Now if you will add any mini figures that you have bought to make it seem like it is a mini Aquarium. If you are adding a fish, it is up to you if you would like to insert the mini sea figures inside.

Now you are all done! Your decoration is a cute and quick DIY to add for your room, reading area, living room, or just to have it anywhere you would like.
